Why we exist

Syrian entrepreneurs were operating in isolation

Each solving the same problems alone. Five gaps kept repeating — and none of them could be closed by a single founder.

  1. 01

    No collective voice

Founders faced regulation individually. No one aggregated the sector's position and put it to government.

  2. 02

    No trusted network

Deals, talent and partnerships depended on personal luck rather than on shared infrastructure.

  3. 03

A knowledge gap, not a talent gap

Founders knew their market but lacked the language and tools investors expect.

  4. 04

    Theory disconnected from the ground

Available training was imported wholesale — frameworks that did not survive contact with the Syrian market.

  5. 05

Capital and founders could not meet

Diaspora and regional investors had appetite. No credible channel existed to reach them.

Five pillars

What we do

One continuous programme, not a series of disconnected events.

Pillar 01

Community & Networking

Meetups, working groups and an active member network where deal flow and peer support actually happen.

Pillar 02

Capacity Building

Workshops, bootcamps, business-model and pitch readiness — delivered by operators, not lecturers.

Pillar 03

Investment Readiness

Demo Days, investor sessions and one-to-one matching between founders and serious capital.

Pillar 04

Policy & Government

Formal representation, regulatory advocacy and position papers submitted on behalf of the sector.

Pillar 05

Knowledge & Media

Recorded sessions, a podcast, documented success stories and an open Arabic-first library.

Operating philosophy

Market-native, not imported

“We build from inside the market, not above it.”
  • Rooted in how Syria trades. Syria's entrepreneurial culture grew out of its traditional trading culture. We design around that reality instead of ignoring it.
  • Application over theory. Every session ends with something the founder can use the next morning.
  • Simple, direct communication. No jargon barrier between the programme and the participant. Plain language, in Arabic first.
  • Peer-led delivery. Entrepreneurs who have done it teach those doing it. Credibility is earned, not claimed.

🤝

A first for Syria

An SEU-initiated Demo Day put Syrian founders face to face with angel investors — with strong participation by women founders across the cohort.

🌍

Regional access

Recorded dialogues with the founders of AlGooru, Salla and Zero to One — the regional reference points Syrian founders were missing.
